Morgan Everhart is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, installation, curation, and writing. Her practice engages abstraction as a means of questioning naturalism and destabilizing fixed ideas of reality, drawing from personal experience, identity, and art historical reference points.

Portraiture and flora serve as frequent points of departure in Everhart’s work, informed by their long histories as symbolic carriers of femininity, beauty, and identity. Rather than adhering to these inherited meanings, she uses them as a foundation to explore how such associations shift over time, both culturally and within her own life. In her paintings, these motifs are not fixed symbols but evolving forms that reflect an ongoing interrogation of their personal and societal significance. Her compositions unfold through an intuitive, layered process in which fragments of the body, floral gestures, and spatial elements emerge and dissolve.

Abstraction becomes a way of thinking, allowing her to move beyond prescribed representation and engage with ambiguity, contradiction, and transformation. The resulting works capture moments of questioning rather than resolution. Everhart approaches painting as both a personal and critical act, holding space for the instability of meaning and the ways identity is continually reshaped through lived experience and cultural context.

Everhart currently lives and works in New York, where she is also a Director at ArtRabbit.
